First Coast Racing, LLC, was formed in 2005 to build a motorsports facility in the under-served North Florida market. The owners all have backgrounds and relationships in the motorsports world, and identified this region as an area with significant untapped potential. The owners also recognize that a carefully designed facility will draw spectators and events from the national and international market, further increasing the value of the facility to investors, owners, the community, and the industry.
The facility will differentiate itself from similar entertainment venues in the region by catering to multiple interests in the motorsports area. It will support drag racing on a paved quarter-mile track, oval-track racing on a paved and banked half-mile speedway, road racing on a course approximately five miles long (specific length and layout will be determined based on the physical site characteristics), and boat drag racing on a 57 acre lake. The design of the facility will permit simultaneous usage of all tracks should scheduling and demand dictate the necessity. There is no other facility with similar capabilities in the United States.
• National and international exposure for the North Florida region
• Estimated value at completion is $100+ million . Estimated annual regional economic impact exceeds $200 million
• Will annually attract approximately 450,000 spectators in full operation
• Creates 125 full time jobs worth $5+ million, and up to 300 part-time jobs
• Over 1500 acres, three main tracks, and parking for 65,000 spectator vehicles
• At least 18 major events each year are planned when facility is in full operation
• Promotes public safety by providing an affordable legal venue for racing
FCR is presently working to secure financing for the project. A suitable site has been identified and basic due diligence has been performed and purchase terms have been negotiated with the landowner. Initial engineering reviews are favorable, and various legal and regulatory issues have been noted and accomodated in our planning. FCR has retained legal counsel for contractual and regulatory matters. The county and local government supports the project. At this stage it is essentially a turn-key operation which could get underway within perhaps 30 days of securing the necessary financing.
Monitoring this website, particularly the public Forum and News areas, is currently the best way to stay on top of FCR's activities. This phase of the project is short on details that are of interest to the general public (who really wants to hear about our lawyers and realtors making phone calls?), but rest assured that the FCR team is making very real progress seven days a week.
